I have mixed feelings about the new year. Not just 2022, but new years in general. The whole “new year, new you” seems kind of like BS to me. Why wait until the new year to achieve x, y and z. It just seems like an excuse, but that’s probably me being intense… which I’m told I am from time to time, ha. If having new year resolutions help you, awesome – everyone’s different, and you should do whatever works best for you.
I’ve been doing a lot of journaling as of late. There’s a ton going on and so much has changed. I started this blog back in 2011 – yah, time flies – and it’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this for over a decade now. If you follow me on instagram, you’ll see that I haven’t been as active on my @bykimberlykong account. It’s kind of a long story, but I’ll explain why in depth soonish.
I’ve been MIA on stories (for weeks now) and posting every 2-4 days which is a big change since I’ve been posting daily for years now. I was on Insta wayyyyy before it became popular, and no, that’s not a flex, just a fact. I thought it’d be hard to be less active, but to be honest, I absolutely love it. I love sharing what I want to share and keeping everything I want private, private. Which is most stuff to be honest.
Moving forward, I’ll be much more active on my food accounts: @nomtasticfoods, @nomtasticbaltimore, @nomtasticva, @districtdrinks and @nomtasticdc. The DC account has been killing it by the way – engagement’s off the charts, and it’s borderline crazy how many shares and sends posts get on the regular. Expect to see a ton of new content that’ll push me out of my comfort zone – there’s a lot in the works…
Robby and I have big plans for the Nomtastic Foods brand so stay tuned. We’ll be focusing on 3 key pillars for the next few months, and we couldn’t be more excited. As for NOM Digital, we’re thrilled with our current line-up, and there’s pretty much interest every day from potential clients. We’re picky about who we sign on though – it’s so, sooooo important that it’s a good fit. Money’s great… but so is our integrity, and our sanity. Ha!
Shameless plug: if you or someone in the food and hospitality biz need social media management or other digital marketing assistance, please email info@nomdigital.net. To see more of what my team does, head to our website for a rundown, and feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Something I reallllly need to work on in 2022 though: self care. Working out will be a priority. Getting enough sleep will be a priority. And eating healthfully will be a priority. I just don’t FEEL great lately, and it’s something I need to take seriously.
Anyways, I’m done rambling for the day. I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday, and I know y’all are going to do amazing things in the new year. Let me know if you have any specific goals for 2022 by commenting below. I’m not sure I’ll be as consistent with my posting schedule for the next month or so…but I’ll do my best! Sending e-hugs your way.
