A while back, I stumbled upon a Buzzfeed article entitled “25 Beauty Products That Reviewers Said Actually Did What They Advertised.” Now, as much as I love their roundups, I rarely buy items based off of their articles. Call me a cynic, BUT I’m usually skeptical AF because who knows what kind of shady business goes down. Ironic since I’m a blogger myself, but it is what it is.
I saved a TON of money during quarantine so I decided to bite the bullet and spend some moolah. I was intrigued by quite a few different products so I went ahead and got ’em all. Here are the 5 items I ended up buying:
- TruSkin Vitamin C Serum ($19.99)
- LilyAna Naturals Eye Cream ($29.99)
- SKIN1004 Zombie Pack (8 for $30.40)
- Elizavecca Collagen Coating Hair Protein Treatment ($6.99)
- Essence False Lash Effect Mascara ($4.99)
So far, I’ve tried 4 out of the 5 listed above, BUT results aren’t immediate for things like eye cream and serum so I’m waiting to update you guys on those. As you can guess, today’s post is ALL about mascara, and spoiler alert, Buzzfeed was on point because this mascara was freaking awesome.

This is what was said.
“A cruelty-free lengthening mascara if your dream is that your lashes would one day hold a voluminous curl. It’s lightweight, won’t transfer, doesn’t smudge, and last all day – what more could you ask for.”
Their Amazon listing boasts that “no falsies are needed,” and I can send that claim. You get a crazy amount of volume from the conic shape fiber brush, and it doesn’t clump at all. I was very skeptical about the “lasts all day” claim, but it really didn’t smudge, flake or anything.
There’s a reason why it’s a #1 bestseller on Amazon, and I’m honestly shocked that it’s only $4.99. It’s so affordable, and it works much better than the vast majority of ALL the “big name” designer brands out there. Trust me when I say you want to give this a try. I loved it so much, I even got one for my mom, and SHE even agreed.
That’s a big deal in my book because she’s quite the beauty guru. She was Miss Korea and Miss Asia back in the day so suffice it to say, she cleans up well. On top of that, my favorite makeup artist – shoutout to Valerie Hammer – also told me this was her go-to mascara.
In fact, she told me their primer was incredible as well so I got that, too. If you don’t use lash primer yet, it’s time to start doing so. It boosts any look with a buildable formula and is infused with acai oil and mango butter to condition and moisturize. And PS, it’s just as affordable. $4.99 for that as well.
Anyways, I’m sorry I don’t have a ton of pictures for this post. I only included shots of the packaging (pulled straight from Amazon), but I’ll try and add a before and after soon. Until then, make sure you get your primer/mascara duo and stay tuned for more updates. Let me know what you think once you give it try!
