For those of you looking for delicious sandwiches in Maryland, you definitely want to bookmark this post. I’ve been a longtime fan of RegionAle, so when they reached out to see if I’d manage their social, I was more than happy to take them on. Freelance life is a doozy, but I love being my own boss. More on that another time though.
So, to tell you a bit more about them, they have two locations in Maryland: one in Canton and one in Ellicott City. They’re known for their sandwiches and beer, and their Baltimore brick & mortar even has a beer wall! To see their full draft list, click here. I’m not a big drinker so I wouldn’t be able to give you solid recommendations, but I do want to discuss sammies.
They have famous handhelds from all over the states, but my go-tos are their Nashville hot chicken and their New York Italian hero. Both are absolutely delicious so you gotta go at least twice.
I’m kind of a chicken sandwich snob so you can trust me when I say RegionAle has one of the best chicken sammies in Maryland. Think perfectly fried and smothered in Nashville hot sauce, then topped with arugula, pickle and garlic aioli on a potato bun. Chef’s kiss! Each bite, packed with flavor.
As for the Italian hero, it’s just a really solid sandwich, and they don’t skimp on any ingredients. Expect an epic handheld stuffed with prosciutto, capicola, salami, mozz, arugula, onion, tomato, fresh basil, and red wine vinaigrette on ciabatta. It’s big enough for two meals (at least for me), and I’ve found that it travels well.
Enjoy it with a side of their broccoli shred. I’m not a huge vegetable person per se, but I honestly couldn’t stop eating this. It’s tossed in a delicious lemon vinaigrette with pepper flakes and parmesan, and it’s quite addicting. It probably doesn’t sound especially exciting, but you’ll feel differently once you give it a go.
They also have house-made chips available so that’s an option as well. Choose from salt and pepper, Old Bay, salt and vinegar and sweet potato. So far, I’ve tried the OB and sweet potato, but salt and vinegar’s next on my list!
Also, you want to make sure you save room for dessert because their fudge brownies are REALLY tasty! They’re double chocolate chip, and taste extra nom when microwaved for a few seconds. Enjoy it with a scoop of ice cream for the ultimate at-home dessert.
