Guys, you have NO idea how excited I am to share this post with you. I recently had the pleasure of modeling for Main Street Ballroom’s latest bridal editorial, and it was so much fun.
Not gonna lie, I skimmed the initial email they sent me (regarding concept) so I was scrambling/low key panicking the night before. Why you ask? I knew they wanted neutral undergarments because my dress was made of tulle, but I didn’t realize it was totally see through.
Now, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m not one to put all of me on display, but I came up with a solution I felt comfortable with. The creative director mentioned that the shoot was edgy and suggested black underwear to contrast with the white tulle.
So, I tried to keep things as modest as possible with a full coverage bralette and lacy black boy shorts. Thankfully, the set looked great with the dress they picked out for me so it all worked out in the end.
Modeling’s such a weird topic of discussion to me because although I’ve technically been “modeling,” I would never call it that. When I think of models, I think of Gisele, Kate Moss, Coco Rocha, and so on and so forth.
It’s kind of how I feel when people tell me they’re pianists when they just kind of play casually. Nothing wrong with that of course, but to someone like me who’s played piano since I was 5, went to Juilliard and eventually graduated with a doctorate, it’s a little eh, you know?
I by no means think I’m fancy for my background, but I just think there’s a difference between someone who does it hardcore professionally and someone who is a casual player.
I guess what I’m basically saying is that I feel douchey calling myself a model, even if I’ve been “modeling” for 10+ years…but that may also be my self deprecation kicking in. Who knows? I guess in the end it doesn’t matter. I do what I do to the best of my ability and titles/labels are totally irrelevant at the end of the day.
All that matters is I had an amazing time! The entire team did an incredible job, and I felt super glam. Everyone was positive and kind, and the vibes were just so, so good. So, I’m curious to hear what do you guys thought of today’s editorial?
