Looking for cute date spots in DC? I gotchu fam! For those of you looking to wine and dine your partner, you’re gonna want to stick with me until the very end. Now, there’s no shortage of amazing places in DC, but I definitely have some favorites. And FYI, the 5 places I’m featuring today are all “fancy” but very reasonably priced for what you get. I’ll make sure to do a splurge-worthy roundup soon-ish so stay tuned, friends.
1. Reveler’s Hour
I love, love, LOVE this place! I recently dined here with a friend, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed their pasta. Their sister restaurant is Tail Up Goat, and the food’s comparable if that’s helpful to you guys. The ambiance here is really great, dare I say perfect for date night? It’s intimate, and the food’s great. Everything’s a la carte, and their entrees range from $20-35 dollars.
2. Little Pearl
I haven’t been here since the pandemic so suffice it to say, I’m excited to dine here again soon with my dear friend David Ortiz. They’re currently open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30-9:45, and they’re offering a beautiful 6-course prix fixe tasting menu for $68.
Friends, trust me when I say $68 is a STEAL! And this is a michelin-star by the way. Just to give you an idea, their current tasting menu has everything from chestnut & foie gras veloute to pumpkin schnitzel. Yeah, just get here ASAP. It’s an amazing option for date night, and I can pretty much guarantee you and your partner will leave happy and full.
3. The Conservatory
Located above Gravitas, this Ivy City rooftop bar and lounge is an absolute gem. I know it’s getting colder out, but they have an indoor dining section along with heated outdoor seating so you should be good to go. The Conservatory offers a la carte dining along with a 3-course prefixed menu priced at $80 per person. It’s beautiful up there, and it’s a lovely way to treat your partner to a fabulous night out in DC.
4. Rooster and Owl
My manfriend and I had my last birthday dinner here, and I was blown away by the whole experience. Although it’s a Michelin-star establishment, Rooster and Owl was very approachable – think incredible food with amazing service.
You get 4 fantastic courses for $75, and I can’t recommend this spot enough. This was easily one of my most memorable meals in the district, and I’m pumped to go back for more. They change their menu frequently so there’s always something new and exciting to try.
5. Shilling Canning Co
If you haven’t been to this gem in Navy Yard yet, definitely make sure to reserve a table stat. I’m a huge fan of their food, and I think it’s borderline crazy (but also awesome) that they offer a 3-course meal for only $55 a person.
The menu here is seasonal and ever changing because they source ingredients directly from local farms and fishermen throughout the Chesapeake area. They’re currently offering a beautiful rockfish entree along with fall-friendly desserts like pumpkin tarts and apple cider posets. Also, FYI they’re now offering a 7-course chef’s counter tasting menu for $95 a person. Head to their website to learn more and see what their current menu is.
