I’m not sure if you guys are familiar with For Five, but if you’re looking for a casual but “aesthetically pleasing” place to eat and chill in Arlington, head on over. They’re located on 2311 Wilson Blvd, and hours are as follows: Monday – Friday 7-4PM, Saturday & Sunday 7-5PM.
I’m not really into “chains,” but I guess 10 locations doesn’t necessarily make it one. Regardless, I was hesitant and walked in with fairly low expectations, but I left pretty impressed with their food and drink.
I don’t have any dietary restrictions, but for those of you who do, they have options that are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and dairy free. They offer both breakfast and lunch, and my recommendations are as follows:
- The Manhasset ($12.95): spinach, tomato, halloumi cheese, scrambled eggs, roasted peppers, basil + paprika mayo, on a semolina roll.
- Korean Chicken Bao Buns ($17.95): marinated chicken, pickled carrots, cabbage, cucumber
- Chimichurri Steak Sandwich ($17.95): skirt steak, jicama, jicama remoulade, arugula, chimichurri, caramelized onions.
The next time I go back, I want try some other menu items. Their banana pudding pancakes look really good, and I’m a sucker for fresh pastries so I’m planning to indulge. Plus, my barista was very nice, and my baby cousin lives nearby. We’ll probably chill on their patio and catch up while sipping matcha lattes because we’re (apparently) basic bitches.
Now that I’m vaxxed, I’d like to spend more time exploring Arlington. I’ve only been to a few restaurants there, but I’m hoping to eat around to find some other local gems.
I manage social for Sushi Rock so suffice it to say, I love their rolls, but other than that, my go-tos in A-town are Hot Lola’s, Ser, Ambar, and Pupatella. Do you guys have any favorites? Let me know by leaving a comment below, and stay tuned for delish new content coming your way.
