Really, really excited for today’s post because I’m featuring one of my favorite designers in the DMV. It’s no secret that I like supporting local businesses and artists – especially since I’m one myself – so I’m beyond thrilled to tell you about Amy Civetti’s handmade jewelry. She graduated from one of the top art schools in the country, SCAD aka Savannah College of Art and Design, and currently designs stunning earrings as a side gig in addition to her full-time job as a graphic designer and art director.
Most of her pieces are under $30 so prices are quite reasonable. Remember, you’re paying for something that’s formed entirely by hand so $ is naturally going to be higher. Amy molds them from polymer clay before baking, sanding and hand-painting so it’s a tedious process. And no two pairs are the same! I love that I own something that’s totally unique. I’m wearing her Gemini 3 design, but it’s no longer available for purchase. If you want something similar, check out Aquarius 25 ($15) and Pisces 8 ($25).
As you can see, I’m all about casual for today’s look. I went with a standard jeans + blouse combo but wore my new top from Stitch Fix to dress things up a bit. I don’t know if you guys remember, but I talked about their latest collaboration with Tanya Taylor a while back – click here if you missed the post. This is yet another one of her designs, and I think it’s really cute. What do you guys think – is this a do or a don’t? And if you’re a fan, how would you wear this?
