I’m not sure how you guys feel about snakeskin print, but it’s very much a do in my book. I recently got this midi dress from Red Dress, and I liked it so much, I decided to do a fun remix post with it. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I enjoy wearing long shirts as layers. So when I discovered this online I thought, “man, I could wear this so many different ways.” And that’s how I justified the $66 price tag!
The piece itself has an open collar with sheer quarter fold sleeves. It comes with a matching belt and has a connected slip dress underneath with adjustable straps. It’s made of 100% polyester, and it has a double-sided hemline slit. I wanted to be able to wear the two separately so I cut dress 1 from dress 2. If that’s confusing, feel free to shoot me a message, and I’ll explain in greater detail.
I’m wearing a size small, and it fits me well as a whole. Strangely enough, the slip dress underneath was a little tight, but you can’t really see it so no harm no foul. For look 1, I kept things extremely simple. I cinched the small of my waist by wearing my belt snugly then carried a fab crossbody to keep things simple yet stylish. You can’t see in the photos above, but I went with classic black heels for a polished, sophisticated vibe.
Look 2’s much more casual. For this ensemble, I detached the gray slip dress underneath and wore it as a long shirt on top. I styled it with my go-to v-neck tee from Zara and high-waisted skinnies to create the illusion of a slimmer silhouette. I kept my previous heels on for this, but you can swap them out with combat boots, OTK boots, sneakers, you name it, it’ll most likely work. It amazes me how much personality a pattern like this adds to a potentially blah look.
Andddd last but not least, look 3. For this, I kept the full piece on (both dress 1 & 2) but left the top layer unbuttoned. The belt’s a really important component because it helps give your body shape! And again, I recommend cinching things tight to create an hourglass silhouette as mentioned above because who doesn’t want mad curves?
To finish things off, I threw on matching heels for a monochromatic effect and carried my pale purple Valentino crossbody bag for a pop of color. My neckline felt a little bare so I accessorized with a dainty layered necklace courtesy of Olive & Loom, a fabulous boutique located in Pike & Rose.
