Hey friends, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m obsessed with all things Red Dress Boutique. So to answer the aforementioned question, yes, they’re totally legit. Not everything I’ve gotten there has been a home run, but that’s to be expected. Their track record’s great in my book, considering I love 90% of everything I’ve ever got from them.
I recently got a huge haul – 7 different items – and if you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably already seen everything. Regardless, I wanted to give you a detailed review on everything, especially since it’s all still available for purchase online. So, here goes!
1. The White Pocket Tee ($34)
Available in 3 different colors, this Z Supply tee is a great basic to own. It’s simple, chic, and has a cute pocket up front. It’s made of a cotton/polyester blend, and it features a curved V neck along with a slouchy raw edge pocket, short sleeves and a high-low hem.
I’m wearing a size medium – because I prefer loose tees – and it fits me pretty well. It’s not my favorite tee, but it’s definitely my favorite white tee, at least for now. Considering the price point, I’d definitely get it in both black and grey as well.
2. Chicago Skyline Charcoal Grey Cardigan ($44)
Love, love, LOVE this cardigan. I’m wearing charcoal grey, but it’s also available in light beige and heather grey! Notable features include a large and super comfy hoodie, long sleeves that you fold at the wrists, a mini double side slit and functional front pockets.
It’s not the warmest cardigan so you’ll have to double up if it’s cold out, but it’s definitely chic AF. In fact, so much so, my mom asked if she could have it! Being the good daughter I am, I gave it to her, but I’m definitely planning to get another for myself. At $44, this is a STEAL, and it looks way more expensive than it actually is. Definitely make sure to cop one if you can – I’m wearing a s/m for reference.
3. Brisk Blues Medium Wash Distressed Denim Jacket ($54)
This is yet another must-have – a 10/10 for sure! I’ve been looking for a solid jean jacket so I’m really glad I stumbled upon this. Made of 100% cotton, this piece has a pointed shirt collar with two chest patch pockets with button flap closures and distressed detailing.
This is an all year ’round kind of piece, and it goes with everything. Whether you want to pair it with a fancy-ish dress like I did or style it with a graphic tee and leggings, you’ll look effortlessly stylish. Expect to see more of this jacket because I’m going to remix the hell out of it!
And for your reference, I’m wearing a size small, and it fits me like a boyfriend jacket. I love the vibe though – I’m not a big fan of super tight clothing in general so this was a total win for me. Pro tip: to balance the volume up top, make sure you wear it with tighter bottoms, like skinny jeans.
4. Colorado Cutie Olive Puffer Jacket ($52)
So, I got this in small, but that was a mistake because this coat wouldn’t close. That’s usually the size I get from Red Dress Boutique, but I guess I needed a medium for this particular piece. The color was nice though – you just gotta remember to size up.
If you’re interested, this is also available in beige, white and wine. Now, do I recommend this coat? If you want a lightweight jacket, yes, this is an awesome option, but if you’re looking for something warm? Pass on this. When I saw puffer jacket, I expected warm and toasty, but I was disappointed with how thin it was. It’s stylish though, and it’d be great if I lived in Cali. Unfortunately for me, DC winters can be no bueno.
5. City Girl Light Taupe Ankle Boots ($56)
Completely and utterly obsessed with these booties. I think the design’s so fashionable, and the straps are too cute. I’m usually not big into pointed toes, but these shoes can do no wrong in my book. They’re true to size, easy to put on – a simple zipper in the back – and the thick stacked heel gives me a bit of height (1.75″) without sacrificing comfort.
I think taupe’s the best color by far, but white’s also chic. I also thought about getting snakeskin for a while but decided taupe would be the most versatile option, at least for me. They’re great for everyday wear, and I love wearing them with skinny jeans. Highly recommend.
6. More to Discover Light Teal Floral Print High-Low Dress ($54)
Although this dress is made of 100% polyester, it looks and feels like satin. The style’s breathtaking, and the plunging neckline, low back, and cascading ruffles make you feel like a queen. I felt empowered and sexy wearing it, but the fit up front was a little iffy for me – breast tape fixed that though so make sure to have a stash handy!
If you’re looking to get a little fancy, definitely consider getting this dress. It’s a 10 on all fronts, and it transitions beautifully from summer to fall. Plus $54 is totally affordable for a special occasion dress. And although I say special occasion, this could easily be dressed down as well, case in point my outfit above.
7. Sweetest Desires Mauve Pink Crop ($42)
And last but not least, THE most adorable floral print crop. This top has a squared neckline with an adjustable cinch bust, long bubbled sleeves and a zipper in the back. I’m wearing a size small, and it fits me like a glove! Wear it with high waisted jeggings like I did for a cute but comfortable everyday ensemble.
This is yet another all year ’round piece, and I can’t wait to wear this in the summer with a cute little mini skirt. If you’re interested, it’s also available in slate blue, and they offer matching shorts for $38 if you’re into two-piece sets. Highly, highly recommend.
