Located in the serene town of Leesburg, Virginia, the Lansdowne Resort’s an oasis with a beautiful state-of-the-art spa. Whether you’re looking to spend some solo time away or want to have a relaxing weekend with your loved ones, their stunning 500+ acre property is everything you never knew you needed.
The resort was designed to help “promote synergy of mind, body and spirit… fusing traditional Eastern wisdom with modern Western science to enhance your personal health and wellbeing.”
They have over 290 rooms on site with a stunning 12,000 square foot spa, 45 holes of private championship golf, 3 restaurants, 4 pools, a driving range, and more. The list goes on and on, and they have pretty much everything you need.
The Accommodations
My mom and I had the pleasure of staying in one of their Governor’s Suites, and our “room” was luxurious to say the least. The space was 1000 square foot with a master bedroom, large living area, dining quarters, two full bathrooms, a wet bar and a fully stocked fridge.
We had two (!!!!!) balconies with a gorgeous view overlooking the resort, and the king sized bed was as comfortable as can be. Check in time was 4PM, and check out was at 11AM the next morning.
In addition to self-park, valet’s available for an additional charge, and FYI they have a $32 daily resort fee, which is understandable due to all the amenities on site. There’s high speed internet is all rooms, and their resort’s pet friendly so feel free to bring your furbaby along with you.
A Guided Meditation
I really wanted to focus on R&R during our stay so I kicked things off with a guided meditation to center myself. During this session, my grop practiced various breathing exercises to help achieve inner calm, successfully disconnecting with the franticness of everyday life.
It’s amazing what meditation can do, but like all things, it takes practice. Moving forward, I’ll be using the Calm or Headspace apps to assist on the regular, because we could all take some time to slow down. Am I right or am I right?
Yin Yoga
Although I’ve followed yoga segments online, this was my first time taking a class with an instructor in real life. We did yin yoga together, and it was fascinating because I’d never heard of that before? I was expecting something SUPER intense, but it was very relaxing. Think more meditative than strenuous.
Since you’re holding poses for longer periods of time, it helps stretch and lengthen, opening up blockages both mentally and physically to help release trapped energy. For someone like me who’s constantly on the go, I really felt the benefits of this practice, and I appreciate the balance I experienced.
Deep Tissue Massage
No words can even begin to express how much I loved Spa Minérale. There’s a reason why they get recognized year after year with awards from different publications.
I got a deep tissue massage with CBD oil, and my massage therapist, Ishmail, was absolutely incredible, like the best massage I’ve ever gotten in my life incredible. It was 60 minutes of total bliss. The pressure was intense for sure, but it was a good kind of pain if that makes sense.
The second he touched my back, he knew exactly what and where my problem areas were. It high key shocked me if I’m being honest! I mean, it was accurate to the point where he knew which muscle would pull when.
“I apologize in advance because this will be uncomfortable.” I was definitely sore the next day, but everything felt SO much better so it’s worth the “discomfort.” And to be clear, he asked me if I was ok with the pressure, multiple times, so that was totally my choice.
Their locker room was incredibly clean, and it had a jacuzzi and a steam room as well! I would’ve loved to take advantage, but I was wearing makeup so I decided to pass this time around. In addition to body treatments and facial care, they offer a slew of salon services like manis, pedis, hair styling and more.
For those of you interested, their hours of operation are as follows: Monday-Wednesday 10-6PM, Thursday-Saturday 9-8PM, and Sunday from 9-5PM. They’re currently offering a spa getaway special, and said package includes overnight accommodations, $300 spa credit and a bottle of their Respiratory Detox.
Healthy Eating
My mom and I woke up to a beautiful spread which we enjoyed on our spacious balcony. How gorgeous is this flatlay though? I don’t know how they made these eggs, but they were so soft and fluffy! It was the perfect end to a fabulous trip to Lansdowne.
If you’re looking to get some serious R&R, I highly recommend booking a trip. And for those of you interested, they’re hosting their first wellness symposium on June 12th! This all-day conference would showcase all thing self-care.
Participants will enjoy keynote speeches, engaging workshops, panel discussions and more to help enhance their physical, emotional and mental well being. Tickets are $149 a pop, and they include social hour, cocktails, plant-based bites and networking. Click here to join them!
