I’m super excited to tell you guys about my latest staycation at Live! Casino & Hotel! Truth be told, I don’t typically do much to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival so this was a real treat for me and my mom. In Korea, this harvest festival’s called Chuseok – which translates to “Autumn eve” – and it’s a HUGE 3-holiday that’s celebrated with copious amounts of food and drink.
Live! Casino & Hotel’s current festivities are rooted in Chinese tradition, and I couldn’t be more excited to share deets from my mini-vacay.
Our trip started off with a feast at Luk Fu. This special chef-curated menu’s available until September 24th, and dishes are as follows:
- Duck Soup with Cordyceps Flower ($$28)
- Steamed Strip Bass with Soybean Sauce ($88)
- Braised Winter Melon with Seafood ($128)
- Chef’s Special Dungeness Crab ($138)
After dinner, my mom and I walked around the casino and played slots. I’m a big fan of poker and blackjack, but I know better than to gamble here since I’m not that great. We got tired after an hour or two, so we went back to our room and passed out.
We stayed in a deluxe double queen, and our room was impeccably clean. It was spacious and comfortable, and I especially loved that the bathroom was large and luxe. We were on the 15th floor so we had a nice view as well! They also had mooncakes and a beautiful floral arrangement waiting inside to welcome us.
The next morning, we decided to get our nom on at Sports & Social. They weren’t serving brunch so my mom and I got selections from their regular menu. The space itself was pretty damn impressive though.
They had a huge media wall with 47-foot tvs set up front + a handful of games that looked fun. I didn’t get to play this time ’round, but I’ll definitely make sure to check it out the next time I come.
We got their buffalo chicken quesadilla, Korean short rib tacos and their jalapeño-avocado chicken sandwich to share. The tacos were my favorite out of the bunch, and they were made with braised short rib then topped with kimchi, red cabbage slaw, gochujang sauce, and cotija.
We were stuffed at that point so we decided to grab our bags and head home. A huge thanks to the entire team at Live! Casino & Hotel for making our stay so memorable.
For those of you looking to get away for a weekend, consider booking a room here. In addition to food and fun, they have a lovely spa as well with all kinds of services, and the Arundel Mills outlet mall is literally attached to the casino so there’s LOTS to do! Have questions?
