I honestly can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed dining here with @dcfoodfreak the other night. Little Pearl’s always amazing, but this last meal was truly spectacular. Head chef Tyler Eaves blew me the EFF away, and this dinner will easily go down as one of the best experiences I’ve had all year.
I took pictures of [almost] every course, and I’ll be sharing everything because I want you guys to see each dish. I apologize in advance because it’s not my best work – I was super hungry so I tried to be as quick as possible – but I hope you enjoy today’s epic photo dump anyway. Here goes!
Pacific Oyster // marigold cordial, blue basil
Baja Kanpachi // celery root, vanilla bean, sea lettuce
Wild Boston Bluefin Tuna Belly // smoked bone marrow, mussel croquettes
Virginia Fritto Misto // local bamboo shoots, hen of the woods, paw paw
Karma Farm’s Pumpkin // sauce grenobloise
Hay Aged Wagyu Beef Carpaccio // horseradish, black pepper
Pig’s Ear Wrapped Hokkaido Scallop // purple daikon, mutsu apple, wasabi arugula
Longview Farms Berkshire Pork // pate en croute, smoked eel mayonnaise, concord grape lacquired secreto, dry aged loin, prawn, pumpkin
Black Rock Orchard Seckel Pear // 3 year nasturtium honey, gorgonzola
Basque Bateau // local paw paw, saijo persimmon
Full disclosure, this menu was a little different from the one they were featuring that evening, but regardless of what you get, I can guarantee you’ll leave satisfied and full. I also saw on their website that starting December 1st, they’ll be changing service up a bit.
There will be two tastings per night (Wednesday through Saturday), and guests will enjoy cocktails (or mocktails) at the bar before heading to their dining room or enclosed conservatory for dinner. Courses will be served all together, even though tables will be separate.
A huge thanks to David Ortiz for being awesome and to chef Tyler for the unforgettable evening. For those of you looking for amazing dining options in DC, I highly recommend this gem in Capitol Hill. Little Pearl will never do you wrong. Just trust me and go! For more on food, make sure you check out this tab and stay tuned for more content coming your way soon!
