It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Red Dress, and my recent haul was nothing short of magical. For those of you looking to upgrade your summer wardrobe, this orange mini dress is an absolute must have. Although the fabric’s polyester, it feels and looks like chiffon. The print oozes summer vibes, and the tie front helps emphasize the small of your waist, creating a flattering hourglass shape that’ll give you curves for days.
The long bishop sleeves are fun and feminine, but they’re never in the way thanks to their elastic cuffs. The ruffled hem is yet another girly feature I love, along with the vibrant color and print of the dress. For those of you interested, this mini fits true to size, and the full length is 33″ long. The bust is fitted so it accommodates most, and there’s a modesty snap for those of you looking to cover up a bit more.
As for accessories, I kept things clean and simple because that’s what I like. I accessorized with my new choker from Rachel Mulherin and then threw on beige wedges to elongate my legs. I didn’t want my bag to be particularly bold so I carried this subtly embellished crossbody to match – both my shoes and bag are from Kate Spade.
I purchased them a long while back – I’m talkin’ years – at the outlet mall, and they’re still wardrobe staples so they were definitely worth the splurge. PS. I’m not sure if you guys are aware of this, but Kate Spade has a student/teacher discount so remember to bring your ID the next time you hit them up!
Before I link other dresses for you guys, I want to tell you a bit more about Rachel Mulherin because her line is absolutely amazing. She’s a Baltimorean jewelry designer – that’s since moved to NYC – that specializes in geode statement jewelry.
She describes her vibe as “bohemian glam,” and sells made-to-order custom pieces on her website. The price point’s on the higher side so you’ll probably want to wait for a sale of some sort, but trust me when I say her pieces are worth the splurge.
I recently ordered her Alba choker necklace, and I seriously wear it at least 3x a week. It literally goes with everything, and I honestly can’t get enough of it. This pearl necklace comes with a hanging chain, and the clasp’s adjustable so you can wear it 15-18″ long. Have questions? Shoot me a message, and I’m more than happy to help.
