Alright guys, I haven’t done a post like this in a while so I decided to mix things up and share one today. As you all know, ASOS is one of my favorite stores – they recently had a huge blowout sale so here we are. I’ve called myself a professional dress collector in the past so it comes as no surprise that most of my buys were in fact dresses. I’ve styled and featured some of these already (on the blog, on instagram or both) but regardless, I’ll be reviewing each one in detail. Continue reading to see which designs are must-haves in today’s dress haul.
Left: Dolly & Delicious All Over Embroidered Shift Dress With Fluted Hem Detail ($61)
This dress should be fresh in your mind since I literally just featured it two days ago – click here if you missed it! It’s everything feminine in a dress, and if you’re a fan of all things girly like me, this is an absolute must-have. It was originally $88, and has fluted sleeves, a mesh insert, and beautiful floral embroidery. This style is perfect for any and every occasion! Wear it with fancy heels and a sparkly clutch like I did for date night or throw on a pair of nude pumps and carry your favorite crossbody for a cute brunch look.
I mentioned this in the aforementioned post, but the only con I can think of is the price – at $61, it doesn’t come cheap – and the fabric. The dress itself screams quality, but I found the inside to be a bit itchy. I do, however, have sensitive skin so it may not even be an issue for you guys. I still wanted to give you a heads up regardless!
Middle: Lasula Tier Frill Bardot Dress ($32)
This dress is seriously adorable! It was originally $72 so it’s a great deal at $32. I really like off-the-shoulder pieces, and this one’s especially flattering because it’s high-waisted. The skirt flares out so you never have to worry about sucking in, and it does a great job elongating your legs. The color’s perfect for summer, and it looks great with heels, flats or even sneakers. The frill trim up top gives you solid coverage so you don’t have to worry about wearing a bra if you don’t want. I highly recommend purchasing this dress for yourself! Plus, who could resist a gorgeous pastel shade like this?
Right: ASOS Delicate Patchwork Lace Mini Dress with Asymmetric Hem ($36.50)
Alright guys, this next dress epitomizes sexy. I was actually really surprised when I got it because I didn’t realize the top was just lace. The model in the photo above is wearing a burgundy bralette underneath so remember that you need to purchase one separately before wearing it out…or you can channel your inner Kardashian and wear it sans bra. I actually went down the risqué route and just wore it as is for GNO, but I used my hair to cover my chest so I guess it wasn’t as risqué as I’m making it out to be.
This dress was originally $92 so you’re getting a huge discount at $36. I personally really loved the design so I ended up keeping it, but it’s definitely a party dress. As a blogger, I go to a lot of events so it made sense for me to purchase it, but if you don’t have anything “fancy” coming up, it might be best to hold off. Remember, you don’t want to just purchase something because it’s a good deal or else it’ll end up sitting in the back of your closet.
Left: Boohoo Petite Floral Print Tie Front Dress ($12.50)
If you’re looking for a colorful summer dress that won’t break the bank, this definitely fits the bill. Like all wrap dresses, this number’s super comfortable. It’s made of a spandex and polyester blend and has an eye-catching print that’s perfect for summer. I contemplated returning this because fit wasn’t perfect – I’ll explain more in a bit – but I decided to keep it as a “home dress.”
As you can see, this dress is petite. Size 4 on ASOS usually fits me perfectly, but this was a hair too small. If you’re interested in purchasing this for yourself, I recommend getting two sizes to see what works best on your body because you can always return the one that doesn’t fit free of charge.
Middle: Religion Wrap Front Dress ($66.50)
If you’re looking for a quality wrap dress, definitely make sure to check this out. It’s a big step up from the Boohoo dress featured above, but there’s obviously a jump in price as well. It has stylish bell sleeves and a super cute ruffle trim. The cross-over front runs a bit small so you may want to get two sizes in this as well. Also, the v-neck is definitely on the more revealing side so you’re not going to want to wear this to work without a bralette/slip underneath. With that said, this transitions beautifully from work to play, and you’re getting serious bang for your buck because this was originally $111.
Right: Missguided Petite Bardot Palm Print Summer Dress ($22.50)
This dress is absolutely adorable, and I can’t get over how cute the palm print is. It’s a petite piece so keep that in mind when purchasing. It’s short and tight so if you’re not comfortable with baring a lot of leg or showing off your curves, pass on this because it’s not the right dress for you.
For those of you interested, I actually wore it on instagram not too long ago – click here if you missed it and want to see a pic of me wearing it. Heads up, if you’re self-conscious about arm/armpit fat, you may not be a fan of this cut, but again, there’s no harm in trying it on since ASOS offers free shipping and free returns.
Anywho, that’s it for today’s dress haul! I hope you enjoyed reading about each and every design, and as always, don’t be afraid to reach out with any questions and/or concerns. I’m always happy to hear from you guys. Until next time, friends.
