I’ve partnered with Optimum Nutrition as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
If you follow me on instagram, chances are you already know that I have second blog called Nomtastic Foods. I’ve also mentioned it on here as well, but if you didn’t know, I have a second blog called Nomtastic Foods, ha. As you can guess, it focuses on incredible eats I devour on my travels and in my hometown…area. Although I live in Maryland, I’m active all over the DMV.
I’m super passionate about food, and I love trying new things so it’s been an incredible journey. And I’m not sure if I announced it here or not, but I decided to take a break from music post graduation. So, I’ve been doing this + food photography full time. I thought that’d give me more room to breath since I was juggling a bajillion things, but there’s always something to do so I’m just as busy.
I absolutely love it, but there’s one con that comes to mind. People are always jealous when I tell them I pretty much eat for a living, but they don’t realize how quickly calories add up. Driving to DC or NoVa can be a pain, so I typically schedule 2-3 restaurants back to back, and I cover new places at least 4-5 days a week so that’s a lot of tasting.
My metabolism’s definitely not as fast as it used to be so that means I reallllly gotta eat right when I’m at home and keep moving on the regular.
Although I’m strict about my exercise regimen, it’s just not cutting it so I’m planning to double down on my diet. I’m replacing one meal a day with Optimum Nutrition’s gluten free Gold Standard Whey.
It contains 24g of protein, and it’s only 120 calories per serving so I’m confident I’ll see results. It has less than 1.5g of fat and 2g sugar, and whey protein isolate is the primary source so most of the carbs and fat are removed. On top of that, it’s easy to mix, and the double rich chocolate’s just super tasty.
Now, I’m also taking their Amino Energy to increase focus, but it also happens to help with muscle recovery so that’s a plus. 1 serving contains 100 mg caffeine (equal to a cup of coffee) so it’s great for an afternoon pick-me-up. I tend to fade around 2-3PM so I strategically indulge then to stay on top of my game.
