If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably seen some of these pics already, but I wanted to share anyway because I loved these pics so much. Jan Galvan and I shot these for The Codex Club a while back, and I’m just getting to them now because things have been so ridiculously busy. On the plus side, I’m going to churn out mad content so make sure you check back frequently.
Wear It As Is
Friends, meet the “live to love” sage maxi dress from The Codex Club. Priced at $75.99, it’s not the most affordable item I’ve featured on here, but it’s beautiful and great for special occasions. It actually reminds me a lot of the Socialyte dresses I own (click here and here to see). Like the latter, this has romper shorts underneath! It’s very comfortable, but the plunge neckline’s revealing so you’ll definitely need fashion tape. The color’s to die for though, and I’m going to show you how you can get max wear out of it.
Pair it with a Statement Coat
How cute is this ensemble though? Be fashion forward and pair your swanky maxi dress with fabulous outerwear for a fun look that will undoubtedly impress. Who knew pink and sage went so well together. Don’t be afraid to experiment with unique color schemes. It’s called “personal style” for a reason, you feel me? If you’re feeling extra bold, throw on a stylish hat to finish things off.
When in Doubt, Go With a Moto Jacket
Moto jackets seriously look good with everything! I’m wearing two different styles below, but both work. There’s just something about the juxtaposition of feminine and edgy. It’s an unusual but effortlessly stylish combination that slays all day every day. I prefer fitted styles, but you do you.
Wear a Sweater On Top
Think of the bottom half of your dress as a skirt and pair it with a cozy fall sweater for a lovely everyday outfit. I wore heels in the picture below, but this would also work beautifully with boots or sneakers. Also, I didn’t do this for the shot below, but try tying the sweater if it’s thin enough. It’ll accentuate the small of your waist, which will then elongate your legs and give you an exaggerated hourglass shape. If you want more of the top to peek through, try wearing it slightly off shoulder.
Alright friends, that’s it for today. What did you guys think of my latest post? Let me know which look you liked best by leaving a comment below, and stay tuned for more remixes like this. To browse more casual outfit inspiration, click here. Until next time, friends.
